Measures to reduce co emissions from road transportation over the next 10 years . ina new New emission goals must be setup for the upcoming new vehicle models. This is a very important step because these light duty vehicles Contribute enormously ecause to carbon dioxide emissions. While buying a new vehicle, the information related to its fuel efficiency and Carbon-di-oxide emissions must be made available . This enables the people to choose cars with low fuel consumption.

Standards for fuel efficiency and emissions must also be set for Heavy vehicles as they contribute heavily to CO₂ emissions. The quality of fuel determines the proportion magnitude of the various gases produced. So it is important to provide good quality fuel to vehicles. Also taxes could be imposed on the amount of Coz produced per vehicle • Measures also should be taken to improve the traffic flow on roads. This measure not only helps in reducing cos emissions but also saves time for the passengers. Used vehicles for and hand whicles could Contribute more emissions compared to new vehicles.

So the practise of buying used cars should be discouraged. Also importing of used vehicles must be reduced. Encouraging people to prefer public transport rather than individual transport . This step involves a lot of capital investment. • We can switch to modern and green fuels and technologies which help to reduce green house gas emissions . Switching to hybrid and electric technologies could also help. • Improving the driving behaviour could be useful over years . • Decreasing the travel distance would definitely gield good results-
