1- I do not agree with this that Empathy can lead us astray because this article tell us that we feel empathy to those who are publicized. to those who we feel personally connected. this argue that we do not show emapthy to those who we do not know their stories and names.

In this context, i would say that we see real life example of people making donations on amazon site or other companies for people who have lost their loved ones and homes and everything in natural disaster. we do not know their name and stories still we show empathy towards those. we still do donations even little because we empathize them. if we see a stranger beating a child or old person we would go and help them. we give money to beggers on the street because we have empathy we still do not know their name and stories.

2-no, i do not agree with this that empathy need a reason to show. empathy can come from anyone without any reason. for example- if we give reason to a jihadi that he should fight for his country even if person has to kill many others. this is not empathy. giving reason can manipulate person's emotion into bad way. empathy is like feeling sad for others in harm without any reason.

there are politician and business person who show fake empathy for reason to earn votes and profit. that is not empathy. they are just using reason and situation for the benefit.
