a) E[W]=E[X+Y]=E[X]+E[Y]=18.1+30.5=48.6

Var[W]=Var[X+Y]=Var[X]+Var[Y]+2Cov(X,Y)=(8.2)^2+(15.2)^2+0=298.28

Standard.deviation[W]=\sqrt{298.28}=17.27

b) Mean =E[C]=1.1E[Y]+25=1.1*30.5+25=58.55

variance Var[C]=(1.1)^2Var[Y]=(1.1)^2(15.2)^2=279.56

standard deviation of C = \sqrt{279.56}=16.72
