1 The process of MITOSIS begins with a DIPLOID cell.

2 The process of MEIOSIS begins with a DIPLOID cell.

Explanation - Both these processes begins with a diploid cell but mitosis ends with 2 diploid daughter cell and meiosis ends with 4 haploid daughter cell.
