Considering the “fits” for group and job design dimensions, suppose you had 12 employees with different skills and experiences (for example: in finance, marketing, operations and sales) and 3 client projects due by the end of the year. Generally, how would you allocate the employees among the projects?

In the above mentioned question, I have 12 employees with different skills and experiences and 3 client projects by the end of the year. It is both an advantage and a disadvantage that I have different skills of employees with different experiences. The first priority would be to understand the priorities of the project and the scope of work required for the project. For example, if one of the project would need more of a financing priority, I would allocate the team member with financial capability and experience in that project and vice versa.

Therefore, it is very important that I allocate my teams in terms of the project requirement perspective rather than randomly making a team and deploying them. Before doing this, the most important thing that I would prefer to do is to make these employees realise their importance for the project and also make them work as a team. Unless and until they don't work as a team, they would not be able to help each other in areas where they are struck.
