Answer #1

Answer - 1

(a) if the G2 phase cell has 10 chromosome than the in metaphase first has cell has 10 chromosome and 20 DNA molecules because after the S phase chromatids and number of DNA molecules are double .

( b) after the anaphase and telophase first homologous chromosome are seprated towards different pole . Hence in prophase second of meiosis number of chromosome are 5 and number of DNA molecules are 10 because each chromosome in tetrad condition.

(c) after the completion of meiosis second same like mitosis number of chromosome is half hence number of chromosome after the meiosis second are 5 and numbers of DNA molecules are 5 .

(d) In the anaphse first homologous chromosome are 10 and number of DNA molecules are 20 because after anaphse homologous chromosome chromosome move to opposite pole

Simulate mitosis by drawing and include the following: Instructions: Set up your cell. The cell you start with should be: A diploid cell It should contain 2 homologous pairs of chromosomes (the cell has more chromosome pairs, but we are just looking at 2 of them) It should be in G1 of the cell cycle, before DNA replication occurs Be sure to show 2 genes that are both heterozygous . There should be one gene on each chromosome. Go through...

Simulate meiosis by drawing Two pairs of chromosomes with crossing over Assume that two of the genes are on chromosome 1, and one of the genes is on chromosome 2. Allow crossing over to occur between the two genes on the same chromosome. Also, are there multiple ways that the chromosomes could segregate to produce different results? Show them. Can someone please check my answer? Understanding chromosome number and behavior during cell division is an important concept in genetics. Fill out the chart below for each phase of mitosis in terms of N (where N = haploid number). For example, humans have a haploid number of 23. There are 46 chromosomes (2N) present in prophase of mitosis. Each chromosome is present in its replicated form (i.e. as sister chromatids) so there will be 2 chromatids per chromosome and the...
