Answer #2

SOLUTION :

Square side = a = 3.10 cm = 0.031 m

Diagonal, d = a √2 = 0.031 *sqrt(2) = 0.04384 m

=> distance from square corner to he centre = r = d/2 = 0.04384/2 = 0.02192 m

Magnetic field created at the centre by wires carrying current 1.80 A at 4 corners of the square perpendicular to the page :

= 4 * µ0 I / (2*pi*r)

= 4 * (4*pi*10^(-7)) * 1.80 / (2*pi*0.02192)

= 6.57 *10^(-5) T  in diagonal direction

So, y component of this magnetic field

= 6.57 *10^(-5) * cos(45) T

= 4.6445 *10^(-5) T  (ANSWER).
