Question

Green car Red car

In the figure here, a red car and a green car move toward each other in adjacent lanes and parallel to an x axis. At time t = 0, the red car is at xr = 0 and the green car is at xg = 222 m. If the red car has a constant velocity of 22.0 km/h, the cars pass each other at x = 44.8 m. On the other hand, if the red car has a constant velocity of 44.0 km/h, they pass each other at x = 76.1 m. What are (a) the initial velocity and (b) the (constant) acceleration of the green car? Include the signs.

Answer #1

Two cars are moving in opposite directions.Information regarding motion of one car are given. To determine velocity and acceleration of the other car given the position at which the two cars pass by.220 km/hr z 221 0x1000 26 lllimls 60x60 44:0 km in z 440x1000 -12:2222 m/s - 60x60 Let the initial velocity and the constantinitial velocity - 19.26 m/s Includi e acceleration 2-1134 m/s²
