Answer #1

Business environment should always be monitored while launching the product.Product should always be designed as per the latest technological advancement. As the business environment is dynamic, there should always be constant monitoring of the technological environmnet and the product to be modified accordingly with the change in technological environment so that it would be running successfully.

Taking case of Nokia - a leading player in cell phone manufacturing nine years back. Nokia was a market leader in cell phone manufacturing few years back and was enjoying the largest market share. The market was constantly evolving. Nokia was manufacturing phones with Symbian OS and was not ready to evolve. When Nokia faced the stiff competition from Android and iOS, still the company was not ready to make any changes in OS as they were enjoying the highest market share. Market was showing advancement in terms of technology, advanced touch screen phones. But Nokia was quite slow in etrms of reacting to the changed technological environment. As a result, the market share of Nokia fell by 90% in 2011 and is then acquired by Microsoft in 2013.

Now as the market is changing, Nokia should come up with advanced Operating System and touch screen based phones. Moreover, the company should work on the production cost, as todays market is all about Value based products, that is high quality phones at low price. Thus if the company is able to work on the three aspects like,

Operating System

Touch Screen based phones

Manufacturing and Operational Cost

The prodcut would be successful and continue to run successfully in the market for the next three years. Again new technology would evolve and company needs to align its product with the new technology.
