Question
  1. Quantitatively compare the coefficients to what you expect from your frequency equation (i.e. by the harmonic number, linear mass density of the cord and its length)

  2. Length of the cord is 0.39m, Calculated mass/length (kg/m) is 0.004, mass of the cord is 0.0016kg, harmonic was 3 through the entire experiment

Answer #1

frequency of nth harmonic is given by = \frac{\sqrt{T/\mu }}{2L}* n , where L is the length of string , T - tension, mu - mass per unit length,so according to that with n=3 ,we should get output frequency = 60.81*{\sqrt{T}}. also fundamental frequency = 20.27*{\sqrt{T}}.
