3. It does not matter what the reading of solute potential is as in an open container the pressure potential will always be zero. Hence the answer is zero.

4. the total water potential of the system is the sum of pressure potential and solute potential. Hence you will add the pressure potential value and the solute potential value. 0.3 + (-0.45)= - 0.15 MPa is the answer.

5. dN/dt= rN x (1-(N/K)

hence calculating 12 x 30 (1-30/40)= 90 individuals/month
