1. This quote reflects Divergent thinking. In comparison to convergent thought, divergent thought is. It's a way to explore a multitude of approaches to find one that's successful. So instead of beginning with a fixed number of options and converging on an answer, it goes as far as wide as possible as continues outward in search of the solution. Divergent reasoning occurs in a free-flowing fashion that is intuitive, contributing to a limited period of time to several alternative solutions. This procedure is disorganized and brings forth unexpected links. As a consequence of divergent thought, the knowledge and ideas gathered can be organized through convergent thought to provide a single most successful solution.

There is no particular answer to whether one approach is always right or not. But if someone masters the action and does it right every time. Then I guess its the best way to do the task for that person.

2. Volkswagen is facing ethical concern and customer as well as employee mistrust. customers generally want to get associated with such companies who are morally and ethically responsible. But Volkswagen did just the opposite here. This resulted in the loss of trust as well as disloyalty from its customers and employees. when the company admitted its mistake and agreed to return to the prescribed norms, the employees and customers started trusting back. Thus, having a moral and ethical differentiation is an important factor for any business.
