The necessity for the testes to develop outside the abdominal cavity in primates seems to place these vital organs at some risk. It would seem a better adaptation for testes to develop inside the abdomen as seen in whales, elephants, hedgehogs, and moles. Can your group come up with a hypothesis for the exterior scrotum development in primates as opposed to the other vertebrates? How might you test your hypothesis?

In a scientific research, to explain the scrotum's position.testicles of some subjects were pushed into the abdomens and sutured them.After a week it has been found that the testes had degenerated, the tubules where sperm production occurs had constricted and sperm were virtually absent.When they are put down to the higher temperature of the abdomen, and the cooling hypothesis was developed.

Exterior scrotum in mammals is also explained due to their elevated core temperatures.High temperature donot permit the spermatogenesis.
