In a scientific research, to explain the scrotum's position.testicles of some subjects were pushed into the abdomens and sutured them.After a week it has been found that the testes had degenerated, the tubules where sperm production occurs had constricted and sperm were virtually absent.When they are put down to the higher temperature of the abdomen, and the cooling hypothesis was developed.

Exterior scrotum in mammals is also explained due to their elevated core temperatures.High temperature donot permit the spermatogenesis.
