1.) Before a predicted frost, orange trees in florida are often sprayed with water in an attempt to keep the fruit from freezing, explain how this works.

It is just transfer of heat. When frost comes, sprayed water freezes and it will loose heat in the process. This heat cen be aborbed by fruit and it will help them keep warm. Also once water has converted to ice completely, it will also acts as an insulator to prevent more cold from getting to the tree itself.

This is helpgul because water has large heat caapcity. It takes alot of heat or cold to change the temperature of the water even one degree. So it acts as good insulator of heat
