When dealing with relational databases what is the first step in reviewing your current record-keeping system?
The answer to the above problem is as follows-
When we have a relational dbms at hand, it means we have data in the form of rows and columns stored in tables.
So first step in reviewing the whole system is to check whether all the required tables are present in the system or not. Because if the necessary tables are itself not there, how can we think of reviewing other parts like redundancy, joins etc. So first step is to make sure that all the tables are there that are mandatory for the system.
