This would lead to a liquidity crisis because the people will not trust in shadow banks to keep their money safely, and thus everyone will rush to these banks to withdraw their money. Eventually, when the shadow banks will not be able to meet the cash demands of all the customers, it will lead to a liquidity crisis.
Investment banks usually function through the securities that they sell to the prospective clients. If the clients believe that the securities are going to reduce drastically in value, then these customers will rush to the investment bank to take back their invested money. This will lead to an investment bank run.
Asset price bubbles were very much evident in the 1990s IT crises, wherein a large number of investors invested their money in the IT firms during the dot-com era. However, later when there was no tangible asset or benefit that was created, the bubble busted and huge amounts of investment of people were lost.
