Types of crosses:

Mono Hybrid cross: In ths only one trait is taken into consideration. E.g: Tall/ short

In this for first generation (F1)

phenotypic ratio is all plants will be tall

genotypic ratio is 1:1

In this for second generation (F2)

phenotypic ratio : 3;1 (3 tall plants, 1 short plant)

genotypic ratio is 1:2:1 (1 TT, 2 Tt, 1 tt)

Dihybrid cross: In this two traits are taken into consideration. eg: Tall/short and colour Black/white

Trihybrid cross: three traits are taken into consideraion Eg: Height of plant , color of seed/flower and shape of seed

phenotypic ratio of F2 generation: 27:9:9:9:3:3:3:1 ratio

genotypic ratio: 1:2:1:2:4:2:1:2:1:2:4:2:4:8:4:2:4:2:1:2:1:2:4:2:1:2:1
