Answer #1

Question 2: The solution for the problem is provided below, please comment if any doubts:

Cost for HDD= Initial Cost + Electricity Cost+ Facility Cost

  • Initial cost = 500
  • Electrictu cost
    • Number of days in four years = 365*3+366 = 1461
    • Total power used =( 0.25*1461*24*15)+(0.75*1461*24*10)= 394470 Watts hour= 394.470 Kwh
    • Cost of electricity = 394.47*0.1=$ 39.4447
  • Facility cost = 4*12*800*0.015= $ 576
  • Total cost of HDD = 500+39.4447+576 = $1115.4447

Cost for SDD= Initial Cost + Electricity Cost+ Facility Cost

  • Initial cost = 1100
  • Electrictu cost
    • Number of days in four years = 365*3+366 = 1461
    • Total power used =( 0.25*1461*24*10)+(0.75*1461*24*0.25)= 94234.5 Watts hour= 94.2345Kwh
    • Cost of electricity = 94.2345*0.1=$ 9.42345
  • Facility cost = 0
  • Total cost of SSD = 1100+9.42345+0= $1109.42345
