Many professions today still have gender stereotypes associated with them. In the past decade or so, many have begun to "open their doors" to other genders such as the military, nursing, sports media/broadcasting, law enforcement to name a few. Why has it taken so long for these gender barriers to come down? Why did they exist in the first place? Students can also talk about the struggles we see even when the professions are opened up to other genders. Use examples and even a case study to support your thoughts.

Now gender barriers are not a problem for the following reasons:

  • Due to the globalization there is frequent exchange of culture in the people.
  • Advancement of civilization and education.
  • Feminist movements in the last centuries.
  • Success of the women in various feels.
  • The need of the participation of the women of the economic development t of the family as well as the nation.

They existed there for the patriarchal dominance in the society and cultural prejudices among the people. Religion is also a major factor that did for the less development of the women. Besides, inequality, poverty, social insecurity, prejudices, lack of education caused bar in the development of the women.

When there is the active participation of the women the competition level becomes high and there is great rise of the competitors. Now the employment rate of the women in USA is more than 60%. Naturally it suggests the participation of the women in various fields of job and the tough competitions for all.
