Answer #1

Q. Which bond has the most ionic character?

Answer. K-O, As K and O, has the highest electronegativity difference (2.7); with increasing electronegativity difference ionic character increases.

Q. Which bond has the most covalent character?

Answer. O-O, As here two bonded atoms are same and electronegativity difference is Zero and the bond is non-polar covalent.

Q. Which two bands have the same ionic character?

Answer: B-Cl and S-O, As both the pairs have the same electronegativity difference (1.0).

Element K O S B Cl
Electronegativity 0.8 3.5 2.5 2.0 3.0
