B. Using the five steps from the online notes, conduct a randomization test given that 90 students in a random sample of 150 use the eTextbook. Be sure to include your relevant StatKey output.

Step 1: Determine what type of test you need to conduct and write the hypotheses.

Step 2: Use StatKey to construct a randomization distribution under the assumption that the null hypothesis is true. Take at least 5000 resamples.

Step 3: Use the randomization distribution to find the p-value. Include a screenshot of your distribution with the p value in red and write a statement identifying your p value.

Step 4: Decide if you should reject or fail to reject the null hypothesis.

Step 5: State a real-world conclusion in relation to the original research question

Answer #1

Step 1: Test for Single Proportion is used for the given data

since 90 students in a random sample of 150 use the eTextbook i.e. n = 150, x = 90

Step 2: H0: The proportion of the student who use the eText books is 50%

i.e. H0: P = 0.50

H1: The proportion of the student who use the eText books is not 50%

i.e. H1: P not = 0.50

Step 3: We generate the 10,000 random samples from randomization test for a proportion, the Output from Statkey is

StatKe Randomization Test for a Proportion Custom Data Edit Data Generate 1000 Samples Generate 1 Sam ple Generate 10 Sam ple

P-value = 0.031+0.031 = 0.061

Step 4: Since P-value > alpha 0.05 so we accept H0

Step 5: Thus we conclude that the proportion of the student who use the eText books is 50%

You are asked to conduct a simulation and run a hypothesis test at a significance level of 0.10. Based on your simulation, you find that the p-value is 0.051. What does this mean for your hypothesis test? 1. Since the p-value is greater than the significance level, you must fail to reject the null hypothesis. 2. Since the p-value is less than the significance level, you must fail to reject the null hypothesis. 3. Since the p-value is less than...
