Answer #1

g ( t ) = - 5 t ^ { 8 } - 2 t ^ { 10 } + t ^ { 6 } + t

First find the degree of the polynomial.

Since the highest exponent of t is 10, degree of the polynomial is 10.

maximum number of intercept is same as degree, so

\text { There are at most } 10 x -intercepts

----------------------------

The maximum number of turning points of a polynomial function is always one less than the degree of the function.

Now we know

Number of turning point = Degree -1

= 10 -1

=9

Thus, at most 9 turning points.
