Li(sec.butyl)3BH is a bulky reducing agent it is difficult for it to attack from the axial side due to steric hindrance of tert. butyl group. Hence it gives the axial hydroxyl product whereas, LiAlH4 gives the equatorial hydroxyl product as major.
