a) C4H8 is oxidised to CO2 and O2 is reduced to H2O (loss of hydrogen is oxidation and gain of hydrogen is reduction.

b.) Carbon is reduced (Gain of hydrogen is reduction )

c) Cu is oxidised to Cu2+ and NO3- is reduced to NO2 (loss of electrons is oxidation and gain of electrons is reduction. Cu losses two electrons and NO3- gains one electrons (1:2 reaction)
