1) shape, base, margins, midrib, petiole, margins, veins.

2)typically a leaf has green colour and large expanded blade like structure called lamina attached to the stem branch by stalk like structure called petiole. These are common feature of a leaf which are found in any leaf which makes them unable to distinguish one type of leaf with other. That's why they are not included in dichotomous key.

3) generally all leaves are in green colour, the colour variation occurs is mainly related to their light availability, pigmentation and the age of the leaf, but not a differentiating charector for type identification.
