Politics is the manner in which government performs its activities. It is the science or art of governing. Politics revolve around specific parties

Policy making on the other hand is planning the achievement of set goals.They are like principles and commitments to be followed by everyone in general

Values have negative affect on politics and policy making. Values are subjective by nature and everyone has different set of values. Hence, politics influenced by some values may be contradictory to others. Hence politics and policy making s expected to be value neutral. It is more important that rules and regulations guide politics and policy making rather than values.
