1) Identify some situations in your life that are problematic; ones that are not going as well as you think they should. Write them as questions. Be specific in how you describe them. Don’t just say, “How can I get along with my friends?” Focus it. “How can I best deal with Arthur when I feel him pressuring me to do X and I really don’t think I should be doing X?”

Write a list of some further questions you should be asking about those situations.

Situation:

This is about me and my best friend. We have trouble understanding each other. She constantly invalidates me, which makes me feel that I am not perceiving things the right way and it gives me a guilt trip. Moreover, it sometimes feels like she judges me over things that I do, which makes me feel low. I am not a person who usually values what others think of me. But, people who are really close to me make me feel conscious about myself and my best friend happens to be one of them. I have tried talking my mind out to her. However, it has made her feel as if I am blaming her for my insecurities and I am unable to accept my flaws. My intention is to not blame her but rather to change the way in which she converses with me.

Questions:

How can I bet put across my thoughts to her without making her feel that I am 'blaming' her?

How can I make her aware that she is judging me?

How does it really make her feel when I talk about my feelings out to her?

How can I establish an effective mode of communication with her where she can understand and respect that I am different from her?

Can you please give me some key take away from this article? Colorblindness can be problematic because "color blindness may result in refusing to accept differences and therefore accepting the dominant culture as the norm" The only way I feel that colorblindness may benefit some students is because they are all seen as equal, but it can be a disadvantage for some because teachers struggle to see them for who they really are. "If used to mean nondiscriminatory in attitude...

The purpose is to share and discuss with your classmates some mistakes and problems that can occur during an interview situation and how to recover from them or prevent them. (Example: I once had an interviewer ask me a question that I knew needed a specific answer. Unfortunately, I...

    1. I hear people talking about how a person's personality can change throughout their life depending on the people they associate themselves with and can be changed if they change their lifestyle or the people they surround themselves with. But according to Freud's development of personality theory, person's personality is established at Stage 5, seeming almost as if it is genetic. I have no actual opinion of whether it is genetics or social, but I do believe it is a...

Discussion Questions Think about some of your friends and what you have discovered by visiting their homes. Do they buy different things than you do? If so, why? How might a company distinguish you from them in terms of its targeting? Is it always harder to find new customers than it is to retain old ones or does it depend on the business you're in? Does one-to-one marketing have to be expensive? How can small organizations interact with their customers...

Hello, I need some help creating an interview. I am playing the role of the employer asking the potential candidate questions. I am the one asking questions to someone. I posted this once already asking for help and the person answered it wrong because they thought I was asking for interview questions that would be asked during an interview and how I should answer them. That is not what I want. I already wasted one question on this. Below are...

Real world work situations can result in some of the best learning experiences that we retain as life lessons. In an online environment it can be difficult to pass on things with informal communication to each other. For this discussion board, I would like for everyone to share their stories, advice and insight for being a good manager or leader. Sometimes it’s the simplest thing that can make the difference between a horrible boss and a great one. What tactics...

Can someone help me with personal biases towards Native Americans or a personal bias in health care? I’m having trouble writing a paper about it. I don’t really understand what it’s about. We all have biases it is in our human nature. But if we are aware of our biases and why we have them we can better work on overcoming them, better understanding them, avoiding them or just staying away from certain situations that we are unable to handle....

Can you please give me some key take aways from this article? Growing up in Atlanta, I am familiar with the Parks Middle cheating scandal. I remember watching it on the news as a kid and not really understanding how and why these teachers and principals had done what they did.
