Matter Cycling Review what it means to be an inorganic or an organic compound, and then use examples of these types of materials to summarize the carbon cycle!!!

In which different spheres (biosphere, geosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere) does carbon show up?

Note that the water cycle is often thought of in terms of evaporation of surface water, cloud formation, followed by precipitation back to the earth's surface. But, this cycle is so much more complicated than that!

Describe a component of the water cycle (a type of water and a process of change for that water type) that helps to demonstrate this complexity. For example: Surface water (type of water) may not evaporate...instead it might soak into the soil (process of change) to be soil moisture for plants.

Answer #1
  • Earth contains most of the matter will ever have.
  • To understand the cycles, you need to know the difference between organic and inorganic matter.
  • Organic matter contains carbon and hydrogen while inorganic matter may or may not contain carbon.
  • Organic matter is found in living things or fossils of living things.
  • Inorganic matter is not of biological origin.
  • Living things are constantly cycling matter through their bodies and in ecosystems, break down organic matter and rebuild it.

Carbon is the key element for living things .The carbon cycle is the matter cycle in which , the processes of photosynthesis, digestion, cellular respiration, decomposition and combustion, carbon atoms move from inorganic form in the air, water or soil, to an organic form in the living things and then back to inorganic form.

Carbon is found in the biosphere stored in plants and trees. Plants use carbon dioxide from the atmosphere to make the building blocks of food during the photosynthesis. Carbon is also found in hydrosphere dissolved in ocean water and lakes.

Ground water which makes up around 22% of the water we use , is the water beneath the Earth's surface filling cracks and other openings in beds of rock and sand.

Water cycle is often taught as the simple circular cycle but it is more complicated than that.

The paths and influences of water through the Earth's ecosystems are even more complex and not completely understood.

The ground water moves into the plants and then evaporates into the atmosphere which is transpiration.

Transpiration is very important to maintain the moisture conditions in the environment. This is important as it also cools the plant and pumps important minerals and water to the leaves for photosynthesis. Plants need to cool themselves for various reasons. The stomata must open to take in carbon dioxide for photosynthesis.

This way the transpiration is very important for maintaining the moisture conditions in the environment and it will also help in the water cycle also by evapotranspiration which means evapotranspiration and transpiration together.

This will help in the formations of clouds and condensation and precipitation to occur.

So, each every organic and inorganic matter cycles and balances the environment following and undergoing various processes.

    10. Write a one-page summary of the attached paper? INTRODUCTION Many problems can develop in activated sludge operation that adversely affect effluent quality with origins in the engineering, hydraulic and microbiological components of the process. The real "heart" of the activated sludge system is the development and maintenance of a mixed microbial culture (activated sludge) that treats wastewater and which can be managed. One definition of a wastewater treatment plant operator is a "bug farmer", one who controls the aeration...
