For probability distribution, we know,

Mean, \mu = \sum xf(x) = 0(0.4) + 3(0.6) = 0 + 1.8 = 1.8

We know, Variance, o? = (x – u)?f()

= (0-1.8)^2*0.4 + (3-1.8)^2*0.6

= 3.24*0.4 + 1.44*0.6 = 1.296 + 0.864

= 2.16

Thus, Variance = 2.16

Now, Standard deviation = √(Variance) = √2.16 = 1.47

Variance = 2.16 and Standard deviation = 1.47

The correct option is (A).
