Answer- Yes an imbricate fan accomodate more shortening compared to the normal fault. It is because the normal fault is an extensional feature where as the imbricate fan are the thrust system with basal decollement which is the result of compression. Thus imbricate fan accomodate more shortening than a normal fault.
