Is this value of magnetic field cause for worry?
No. Since this field is does not differ a lot from the earth's magnetic field, it would be expected to have almost the same effect as the earth’s field.
Yes. Since this field is does not differ a lot from the earth's magnetic field, it would be expected to have almost the same effect as the earth’s field.
Yes. Since this field is much greater than the earth's magnetic field, it would be expected to have more effect than the earth’s field.
No. Since this field is much smaller than the earth's magnetic field, it would be expected to have less effect than the earth’s field.

Answer #1

a)

i = current in the line = 190 A

r = distance of the ground from the line = 8 m

Magnitude of magnetic field at the ground is given as

B = (\mu _{o}/4\pi) (2i/r)

B = (10-7) (2 (190)/8)

B = 4.75 x 10-6 T

b)

Be = Earth's magnetic field at the ground = 0.50 G = 0.50 x 10-4 T = 50 x 10-6 T

B x 100/Be = (4.75 x 10-6) x 100/(50 x 10-6) = 9.5%

c)

No. Since this field is much smaller than the earth's magnetic field, it would be expected to have less effect than the earth’s field.

    Please complete all steps and explain as thoroughly as possible for the best possible rating. Power lines produce both electric and magnetic fields. The interior of the human body is an electrical conductor, and as a result, electric fields are greatly reduced in magnitude within the body The electric fields inside the body from are much smaller than electric fields normally existing in the body However, magnetic fields are not reduced in the body. choose correct answer. no explanation needed QUESTION 10 How do astrophysicists account for neutrino emission from the Sun? Solar flares create neutrinos with very energetic magnetic fields. Convection releases neutrinos, which random walk through the radiation zone. Fission in the Sun's core creates neutrinos when protons turn into neutrons. The annihilation of positrons and electrons in the core produces neutrinos. Fusion in the Sun's core creates neutrinos when protons turn into neutrons, QUESTION 11 How does the interstellar medium impact...

    ADVANCE STUDY ASSIGNMENT: COULOMB'S LAW PURPOSE of tl of this exercise is to become familiar with the force between electric point charges which is descrbed by Coulomb's law. In particular, we will investigate the force's inverse-square dependence on separation distance between charges. DISCUSSION A basic characteristic of electric charge is that charges exert forces on each other, like charges positive-positive and negative-negative) repel each other while opposite charges (positive- and constitute a Newton's third-law pair; that is, they are equal...
