For each phase (G1, G2, Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase, & Telophase/Cytokineses) What are/ What is the:

1N

2N

Linear DNA

Chromosomes

Replicated chromosomes

Chromatids

Centromeres

Kinetochores

Autosomes (chromosomes)

Sex Chromosomes

Paternal autosomes

Paternal autosomal chromatids

Maternal autosomes

Maternal autosomal chromatids

Answer #1

The entire process is of mitosis which involves cell division to create two new cells and has following stages.

G2 phase: DNA duplicates and are called sister chromatids. Has two controsme.

Prophase: chromosome start to condense and mitotic spindle begins to form. Nucleolus disappears.

Prometaphase: Breaking of nuclear envelope, capturing of chromosome by microtubules called kinetochores.

Metaphase: chromosome line up at metaphase plate and are ready to divide.

Anaphase: sister chromatids seperate and pulled to opposite pole.

Telophase: Breaking of mitotic spindle, formation of two nuclei and each set of chromosome

Cytokinesis: Division of cytoplasm and formation of two new cells.

Since two cells are formed it is called 2N

Can someone please check my answer? Understanding chromosome number and behavior during cell division is an important concept in genetics. Fill out the chart below for each phase of mitosis in terms of N (where N = haploid number). For example, humans have a haploid number of 23. There are 46 chromosomes (2N) present in prophase of mitosis. Each chromosome is present in its replicated form (i.e. as sister chromatids) so there will be 2 chromatids per chromosome and the...
