Answer #1

Answering the first question as per Chegg Guidelines:

1. Industry: Aviation Services

2. Specific Firm: JetBlue Airlines

3. Demand Management:

· a) Reason for Seasonality: There is high dependency on the sale of air tickets based on holiday and leave seasons. The company needs to run extra aircrafts in the Christmas holiday season but there is scarcity of passengers in off seasons like Feb-March and August-October.

· b) Methods to Shift Demand: The airlines company can come up with various interventions to attract customer attention in the off season. The customers can be offered heavy discounts on tickets in off season. A dedicated loyalty program can be initiated.

· c) Possible countercyclical Products or Markets: The business employees need to be on the run in both off and on season. The role profiles like consultants, marketers, etc. are frequent flyers and their ticket booking is not season based.
