If the proton continues to move at initial velocity = 1.0 * 105 m/s , then we can say that there is no net force on the

proton .

We cannot assume that there are no electric fields or magnetic fields present in that region . There can fields in that

region which may balance or cancel each other such that the net force on proton due to electric field or magnetic

field is zero .
