He did not do any preconditioning, nor has he ever trained hard before, but he does ride his bike and plays tennis. The morning after the race, friday, Dr. Danny had so much pain in both his legs, he was unable to ride his bike to class. What caused this pain? Danny dint do any warmup exercises before doing this sternous exercise and hence it caused muscle cramps. Anaerobic respiration results in accumulation of lactoc acid and hence results in pain. He has not trained properly and hence not used to this sternous exercise which requires regular practice for the muscles to get used to such activities. His pain will get relieved in one or two days after rest and hot water massage and then he can ride his bike again.

The muscles involved are soleus , tibialis anterior , gastronemeous , poplitious, quadriceps femoris, vastus medialis and vastus lateralis , gluteus etc.
