Each student will conduct an in-depth case study analysis of an Information Technology Project summarized in a professional-grade project report. You will need to contact someone in an organization who has worked on or is currently working on an IT project. This could be the project manager, a member of the project team, or the project client or sponsor. This may be a project with which you were involved; however, you must include at least one other person in order to minimize any bias. You may change the names of any persons involved and the company; however, this must be a real organization and project. Suggested Outline: The following provides a "general" outline for your report. Feel free to adapt it to your needs. 1: Provide a general overview and description of the organization (size, products, services, etc.), the industry, and so forth. You may change the identity of the organization, but be sure you have permission if you identify the organization by name. 2: Provide a detailed description of the project, as well as background information that may include the reasons for undertaking the project, its goal and objectives, and reason for selecting the project. 3: Schedule and budget information, if available, would be useful. In addition, be sure to describe the project stakeholders in terms of roles and backgrounds, but do not include any specific names. For example, you would refer to the project manager as the "project manager" or systems analyst as a "systems analyst" instead of Mary Jones or Fred Smith. 4: Describe a specific challenge or opportunity faced by the project manager, project team, or project sponsor. Try to focus on a specific aspect of the project. Examples may be a particular technical or project-related challenge or decision. Moreover, this could be an organizational issue that focuses on the relationship of the project team and the sponsor or the organization's willingness to change. Be sure to discuss how this challenge or opportunity relates to a particular project management area or topic covered in class or the text. 5: Describe the actions or decision taken or made. Be sure to discuss the reasons and process that led to the decision or actions. 6: Analyze the outcome and lessons learned and discuss what can be learned and shared with others. This is the most important component to your project. I am interested in your thoughts and ideas. What to Turn In: A professional-grade report that describes a "real-world" situation as described above. I am not looking for a specific number of pages; however, I am looking for depth and insight. The report should be a hardcopy submitted to me in class. Also, please submit an electronic copy of your report via Blackboard in week 10. The project will be graded based on grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc. as well as professional appearance, degree of depth and insight, and the value of the lessons learned.

I cant mention my company name here so it will be referred as ABC in this case study. I am a team member of the below project.

ABC is a service based company which has a revenue of 2100 crores USD as of 2019 whose headquarters is at Mumbai,India.It operates across 45 countries on the globe which has around 4 lakh employees.ABC group serves in various industries like automobiles,hardware,software,furniture etc.

ABC got a project from Italy client lets name it as XYZ which deals with Mainframes migration.This project's objective is to remove the mainframe technology and replace with other such that the cost is reduced.We all are aware that mainframes includes a lot of equipment which is very expensive.Our ABC took this project in the financial year of 2019 and the delivery date for this project was set as Week 24 in the year 2020.There are overall 13 tools in which mainframe has a role,so to identify the tools and the part of the source code which interacts with the mainframe servers was the first biggest challenge to our team.It took almost 2 to 3 months to prepare all the documentation part for all the tools.We came up with a presentation which includes budget for this project,the schedule which illustrates the delivery periods.The XYZ firm was convinced and insisted us to start the migration programme immediately.The next challenge we faced was the shortage of data for testing.We need migrate the data which is of several giga bytes.The XYZ firm helped us a lot and made sure that the data is available for us for testing.This is our managers first project and the team has many youngsters.So it was always difficult for the team to understand from the scratch and we used to guide among ourselves irrespective of the tool or technology we were assigned.The challenges in this project were numerous which forced us to be more flexible with various latest technologies like Qt framework,Java RMI etc.Each and everyone of the team used to work from end-to-end. (which means from developing a source code to testing )The main thing which i learned was to work effectively with the team which is very crucial because i was a fresher with zero knowledge when i was hired into this project .They used to back me up everytime and never used to hesitate to help me with my minute doubts even.We used to work in the weekends,late nights flexibly to meet our proposed targets without fail because if a particular sprint gets delayed that will definitely effect the final target.The client firm and our organisation are very firm about the delivery in the week 24 and that was met as promised.Every stakeholder from BSC,MSC was happy with the product which we delivered and gave their sign off on time.The client was very happy with our work which is going to save them some millions of dollars.
