Answer #1

To answer this question first tabulate the KSP values of all the salts provided. I got this data from searching online for Ksp values of these salts.

Aluminium hydroxide Al(OH)3 4 ions 3 x 10-34
Silver phosphate Ag3PO4 4 ions 8.89 x 10-17
Ferric hydroxide Fe(OH)3 4 ions 2.79 x 10-39
Ferrous sulfide FeS 2 ions 8 x 10-19
Calcium sulfite CaSO3 2ions 6.8 x 10-8

Few basis about Ksp values that are needed to answer the question given:

1. We can only directly compare salts that give equivalent numbers of ions.

2. For salts that produce the equivalent number of ions greater then Ksp value greater the solubility.

Based on the above information Al(OH)3 , Ag3PO4, Fe(OH)3 have same number of ions so their Ksp values can be compared.

So Aluminium hydroxide is more soluble than ferric hydroxide and less soluble than silver phosphate.

It is not possible to compare if aluminium hydroxide is less or more soluble than ferrous sulfide and calcium sulfite based on the Ksp values because the number of ions are not same for these species.

Hope this is clear, good luck.
