Most people think stress is something "out there" that just happens to them. However, there is another way of looking at stress as something in you, something that depends on your thoughts and emotion. Do you see our works as an endless set of assignments you will never complete or as challenging tasks to master? Do you believe your answer will affect how stressed you are? What stage of the General Adaptation Syndrome are you in?

Stress is one of the most important factors that helps the organisms to function effectively. However, when stress goes out of control one would struggle to cope with the tasks one does and wouldn’t be able to function effectively at home, in the society and at work. I agree that whether stress would take toll of the person or whether stress would act as a motivating factor would depend on the person dealing with it. I engage in activities that help me overcome my stress thus, coping with the tasks at hand effectively. Although the assignments and other tasks force me to get into certain amount of stress, I am able to manage it because stress helps me complete my tasks effectively by visualizing the consequences of not doing them. I’m in the second stage of general adaptation syndrome which is resistance. I’m able to analyse the impacts of the stress thus, not leaving it to the third stage of exhaustion.
