The composition for the rural aerosol was Al-2400 mg kg1 and Pb = 3.4 mg kg and for the industrial sample is was Al-2850 mg kg-1 and Pb-35 mg kg-1 The crustal abundance of Pb is 14 mg kg1 and for Al it is 81300 mg kg1. (a) Calculate the enrichment factor (EF) for lead for both aerosols. (b) The EF for the aerosol in the rural area is greater than 1 but less than 10. Suggest a reason for the slight enrichment in Pb in the rural area.
