1 molecule of KCl have one atom of chlorine.

But 1 molecule of Chlorine (Cl2) have 2 atom of chlorine.

As Avagadro's number of molecule is equal to a mol of molecule.

Thus 1 mol of KCl will have 1 mole of Cl atom

but chlorine molecule have 2 mole of chlorine atom. Therefore,

moles of chlorine = 2 moles of potassium chloride.
