This week we read pieces from Hume and Strawson, both of which deal with questions of induction, and justification when it comes to knowledge. Summarize their positions, and offer your own thoughts and understanding of issues surrounding induction and knowledge.

The problem with induction and knowledge is that we generalize our knowledge and try to simplify the observations and the future observations simultaneously. This can be understood with an example while eating bread from a loaf of bread, when we come across a fresh slice of bread we assume that the coming breads in the loaf will be as fresh as this one, later we can conclude that the bread from that particular brand is mostly fresh or the grocery store from where we have got the bread never keeps stale bread. This is where the problem arises our brains try to to generate heuristics and thus simplifies them into classification known as concept formation which helps us deal with the environment by using our knowledge and justification to the general world.
