The question is concerned about the three areas, in which we will audit the plant, following are the area should be audited within the Plant as stated below with brief description:

  • We can audit product or service or Result documentation within the plant and evaluate that how we are conforming to the requirements like product specifications, Product standards, service standards and requirements of clients, the product could be Mechanical, Chemical or IT related products,
  • Any organization runs on various processes, for example, for heavy machinery industry, we can see various processes like fabrication, Cutting and Material preparation, Assembly and painting, shot blasting processes, thus, every plant has process area, which need to be audited, here we will audit and evaluate, how each process is conforming to its standards and its requirements, how is effective all the processes as applicable within the company, how processes are working to convert input material into output material,
  • The third area, every plant should consider for the purpose of auditing, it is called Organizational system, such system audit could be like Quality Management system audit, Safety Audit and Environmental system audit, here, main objective is to evaluate how is the effectiveness and appropriateness of Organizational system,

Following are the way, we can audit each area, like we can involve First party, here, Internal audit is performed by the auditors, those are employee of the plant or organization, thus, first party can be involved to evaluate effectiveness, and appropriateness of System, Process and Product, services, next, we also can involve second party, here, customer will do the audit in the house or site of suppliers, customers can send representative like contracted organization to perform the audit on a suppliers, the next party is Third party, audit organization can be treated as Third party, they are professional organization and free from both clients and suppliers organization, again, they can reduce conflict of interest in the process of audit, further, we can do performance audits, Compliance and Conformance audits, follow up audits and works on certification programs for successfully fulfilling the requirements of each audit area,
