Organisations operating in healthcare sector should not buy as well as sell data or any personal information without permission. If disclosure of data is necessary for any authentic purpose like further treatment of patients and many more then the seller and buyer of data must be compliant with all the rules of HIPAA.

Permitted staffs in the organisation must be responsible for handling all the confidential data. Implementation of software like EHR and CRM can help healthcare organisation to keep data safe and secured to a great extent. This helps the organisation to protect the data and it also prevents incident like data theft and data loss.

If personal information of an individual gets leaked then it can be used by other unauthentic sources and that source can harm the individual and leakage of data also harms the reputation of the organisation.
