Answer #1

1. Correlation is the study to calculate how two variables are related. It can be a positive correlation, negative correlation or zero correlation.

A positive correlation indicates that if one variable increases the other variable also increases at the same time.

A negative correlation exists when one variable increases that decrease the other variable at the same time.

Zero correlation exists when there is no correlation between the two variables.

It is useful in making predictions, reliability, validity, and for theory verification.

An experiment is done to find the cause and effect. In an experiment by manipulating the independent variable the effect on a dependent variable can be calculated, and extraneous variables are controlled. It is the study of investigation where the hypothesis is scientifically calculated. There are various methods the experiment can be done. 1. Laboratory, 3.Field experiment, 3.Naturalexperiment,

3. The difference between correlation and experiment are as follows

1. The experiment calculates causes (independent) and effect (dependent variables), 2. It states a clear theory, 3. It makes a hypothesis for the experiment 4. Observe and measure 5. Make a conclusion and find the result

A correlation finds the relationship between the two variables that means the experiment can find the cause and effect and co-relation can establish a relationship between the variables that allow researchers to investigate the naturally occurring variables.

Study I

A Dartmouth study-----:1. Negative correlation 2.reason: As the weight of the woman increases the earning decreases.

Study II

For the same Dartmouth---- 1. Positive correlation. 2. As the height of the men increases the earning increases.

Study III

An Australian Study.--- 1. Experiment .2. The hypothesis to find out the effect of MSG 3. MSG and placebo are independent variables, and the 4. Dependent variables are the effect of MSG, 5 Result: there is no ill effect of MSG on health.

Study IV

USA Today reported---- 1. Positive correlation 2. The winning by one of the original NFL the Super Bowl tournament people would buy more shares and the stock market would gain,3. And the negative correlation that if the team loses the price in the stock market would fall.
