Answer #1

1. Fraud : It can be defined as an illegal activity carried out by an individual or an organisation in order to benefit themselves.

Eg : Suppose you gave some amount of money to a person who claimed to be an insurance agent, but suddenly after taking your money he disappears and you are unable to find him. So this is a fraud done by him which is illegal.

2. Dishonesty : It is basically defined as breaking someone's trust and lying to someone for your own benefit.

It is different from fraud as it can be done unintentionally also and is not considered an illegal activity and a crime.

3. No , dishonesty is not a criminal offence as it is not done intentionally to hurt someone, it can be done as as result of misrepresentation. For eg, a person A has stolen some amount from the company he works for and tells his friend, and when asked by the owner of the company , the friend refuses in order to save the person A. Hence he is being dishonest here to save his friend and it is not a criminal offence.

4. No, since being dishonest is not a criminal offence , I have never been a criminal.
