Solution :-
For the TLC plate A the one spot is placed on lower side of the base line which may get dissolved in the solvent mixture and may not run well on the TLC plate.
For the TLC plate B the both compound spots are run along with the solvent and reaches to the solvent front line therefore the Rf value cannot be calculated for them.
For the TLC plate C the spots were well separated and run properly so that the Rf value of the components can be calculated. But the TLC plate might be placed tilted in the developing chamber that is why the spots are run and appear little bent towards right side.
For the TLC plate D the spots are very large that is why they got mixed with one another so we cannot distinguish them and hence the Rf value cannot be calculated for them
Why ink must be avoded in marking TLC plates? Why is TLC analysis limited to nonvolatile samples?
4. TLC is a common method used to monitor reactions for completion. Consider the reaction below and draw the expected TLC plate for prior to the reaction, during the reaction, and after the reaction has completed. Only consider species A (1-hexene) and B (1-hexanol) on the TLC plates that you draw. 1. BH3-THF 2. NaOH, H202 VOH
How can you visualize anthranilic acid on TLC plates? How can you visualize carboxylic acids on TLC plates? Three different methods or reagents for both.
10. The following TLC plates have been spotted with two different compounds and are about to be eluted. For each plate, explain if it has been spotted correctly or incorrectly and why. (see attached) Question 10:

TLC Analysis Of Egg Lipids Lab 1. The TLC plates were pre-baked at >120C. Why is this step necessary? 2. Below is the structure of your lipid staining dye, Naphthol Blue-Black. Explain which noncovalent interactions would be most important in allowing the dye to adhere to lipids (consider the chemical property of lipids as well as the dye). 3. You ran a solution of a fatty acid and a wax on a TLC plate using the exact conditions used in...
1. Why should any marks on the TLC y marks on the TLC plate be done in pencil and not pen? 2. A spot on a TLC plat migrates 4.2 cm as the solvent plates my migrates 4.2 cm as the solvent plates migrates 8.0 cm up the plate. What is the Rivalue for this spot? Show your calculati
When observing the TLC plates, were all the spots nice small circles? If no, provide and explanation as to why this might be the case. 3.
Why would fluorene bind to dichloromethane more than fluorenone in TLC plates when fluorene is a non-polar molecule and fluorenone is a polar molecule?
CAN SOMONE PLEASE HELP. above is a picture of two TLC plates
with spots on them. could somone PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me get
their measurmentS (in milimeters) and help me calculate their Rf
values!!! I promise to rate u good if you could help!!! Im so
confused!!! THANK U SM
