The chemical bond is formed by the attraction of atom or ions. Due to electronegativity, the atoms can attract the electrons in a chemical bond. The chemical bonding is formed with the help of overlapping of the atomic orbitals.
There are two types of bond. They are sigma bond and pi bond .
Sigma bond:
The head – on overlapping of atomic orbitals leading to a covalent bond formation is represented as sigma bond.
Pi bond:
A side wise overlapping of atomic orbitals leading to the formation of covalent bond is represented as pi bond.
Example:
The double bond in ethene contains 1 sigma bond and 1 pi bond. The 4 valence electrons of each carbon forms a bond with 2 hydrogen atom, 1 carbon – carbon sigma bond and 1carbon – carbon pi bond.
The double bond in ethene includes 1 and 1 bonds and each carbon – hydrogen bond shows .The bond angle is 1200 and it shows the trigonal planar geometry.

5. Diazene is a compound with the formula N2H2 and is used in organic synthesis to hydrogenate alkenes so that hydrogen gas (which occasionally explodes) does not have to be used. Draw the Lewis structure so the molecular geometry about each atom is evident. Note: if the H atoms are on the same side of the N-N bond, it is the cis isomer, if the H atoms are on opposite sides, it is the trans isomer. (a) Name the set...
use DETAILED explanations and reagents that are commonly used in
organic chemistry to prove this synthesis. DO NOT FORGET to show
movement of electrons, and explain why you used each reagent.
Propose the synthesis for 1,3-cyclohexadiene from cyclohexene. Show the complete mechanism for each step of the reaction and all intermediates formed.
One type of plot commonly used in research papers is a "box plot", also known as a 'box and whisker plot". A boxplot can be created in MATLAB using the boxplot command Here's an example: - -- + Considering just the box in a box plot, what extent of the data is represented in order by the top edge and the bottom edge? Select one: the median - 1 SD and the median - 1 SD the 66th percentile and...

Tris(hydroxymethyl)aminomethane (also known as “tris”) is a weak base commonly used in biochemical research in the preparation of buffers. Tris has low toxicity and a pKb of 5.92 that is appropriate for biological applications. a. In order to make tris buffer, a researcher weighed out 2.00 g of tris (molar mass of 121.14 g/mol) and reacted it with 15.00 mL of 0.800 M HCl. What is the pH of the resulting buffer? You may assume a total final volume of...
Bond-line notation is an efficient representation of molecules that is commonly used by chemists. Molecules represented in bond-line notation are also known as "skeletal structures," "stick figures," or "line-angle" formulas. For the following molecules shown in bond-line notation, draw the appropriate Lewis structure and write out the correct molecular formula for the compound. The first problem is solved for you as an example. Bond-line notation Lewis structure Molecular formula C, H2 1. 2 3
