a 5 kg concrete block is sitting on a frictionless surface. if one person is behind the block pushing with a force of 5.5 N at an angle of 150 degrees while another person is in front of the block pulling with a force of 3.5 N at an angle of 37 degrees with the horizon, is the block in an equilibrium situation (in other words, will it remain sitting still or will it move)? If not, what additional force would have to be provided to keep it from moving?

Please help, I am having trouble figuring it out.

-Block A of Fig. P3-1 rests on a smooth (frictionless) surface. If the block weighs 25 lb, determine the force exerted on the block by the surface and the force P required to prevent motion of the block. -Description of the figure: the block is sitting at an angle (with a slope of 3/8), with force P parellel to the incline. This is my first statics problem and I'm having a lot of difficulty understanding the concept. Please answer with...

A block of mass 3.5 kg is sitting on a frictionless ramp with a spring at the bottom that has a spring constant of 435 N/m (refer to the figure). The angle of the ramp with respect to the horizontal is 29°. show answer Incorrect Answer 33% Part (a) The block, starting from rest, slides down the ramp a distance 52 cm before hitting the spring. A block with mass of 10 kg is on a frictionless surface. One hand on the left side of the block is pushing it to the right. A second hand on the right side of the block is pushing it to the left. The block starts from rest. Then Hand 1 pushes with a force of 8 N and the block moves to the right a distance of 4 m, where it has a final velocity of 2 m/s. Between...

The plane itself is inclined θ = 300 with the horizontal. (a) What is the acceleration of the block along the incline? (b) If the block begins at rest, in what direction will it move subsequently (i.e., up or down the incline)? (c) If...
