Provide real-world examples for the following types of intelligence as theorized by Gardner: verbal/linguistic, body-kinesthetic (movement), and logical/mathematical. Explain why each example represents one of the types of intelligence. Present some of the arguments critics have offered against Gardner's research.

Howard gardener theory's of multiple intelligence, describes eight types of intelligence people may posses.

1. Logical–mathematical: Arithmetic, calculations. Example- Problem solving and calculation skills, and to be able to quantify things and use inductive and deductive reasoning.

2. Linguistic: Verbal and written language. Example - Skills in persuasion, using language proficiently with correct words, word order and grammar.

3. Spatial: Visualization, navigation. Example- Creation of artistic designs, such as painting, architectural designs. Thinking and perceiving in 3 dimensions.

4. Musical: Identifying rhythms, sounds. Example - Awareness of tune, melody and pitch. Skills in playing one or more musical instruments.

5. Bodily-kinesthetic: Body movements coordination. Example - Able to move the body in a rhythmic way. Dancing, swimming or other athletic sports.

6. Interpersonal: Understanding and relating to others. Example - Being able to get along with various types of people. Understanding people and effectively communicating with them.

7. Intrapersonal: Understanding ones own self. Example - Ability to be aware of ones own feelings and emotions. Mediation and mindfulness activities are related to this kind of intelligence.

8. Nature: Connection and understanding nature. Being able to connect with nature such as caring for the animals, plants etc.

Howard gardener had proposed that these eight types of intelligence are independent of each other, but later research has shown that there is correlation between the different types of intelligence, which means that there is overlap between one or more types of intelligence. The other criticism is that researchers have not been able to provide evidence support this theory. Other critics have said that this theory is very simplistic and thus interests people, but it does not provide any empirical evidence to back it up.
