Ans 2) The inner ear process sound wave from middle ear through the vibrations created through the sound waves in the middle ear. The sound wave moves through chain of bones within the middle ear which are malleus, incus and stapes and moves into the cochlea of the inner ear. The ear drum vibrations are created by the middle ear and they travel through the ear canal into cochlea. Initially the sound enters the outer ear through the external auditory canal and on moving to the eardrum causes vibrations. The small bones are malleus, incus and stapes which are present in the eardrum and they vibrate from the incoming sound waves and after the sound waves are amplified in middle ear, it is sent to inner ear through cochlea. With the vibrations, the fluid within cochlea ripples and the hair cells which are present close to wide end of the cochlea are able to detect the high pitched sound. The low pitched sound is detected by the hair present closer to the center.
